Once, at band camp one of my professors made this statement: "Music is unlearning the irrelevant."  It's a comment that has stuck with me through my entire music career and something I whole heartily apply to instruction in music.  That being said, an integral part to teaching and being a student is humility.  My philosophy involves us coming together to find the answers that work for you!
